海燕 測量船 ★ KAIEN Survey Vessel

was a busy body in the Kanmon Straits on November 11th 2024. This state of the art, high speed, high precision survey ship measures water depth for the dredging and improving of the Kanmon Waterway. Kaien (海燕) helps ships safely pass thru the straits by measuring the water's depth. Rumor has it KAIEN (MMSI 431007457 / IMO 4194304) Japan MLIT Survey Vessel   海燕  測量船 ★ KAIEN Survey Vessel In the above photograph Kaien can be seen hard at work surveying the Kanmon Strait while the Korean container ship Heung A Sarah of the Heung-A fleet sails past Shimonoseki and Kitakyushu. This aluminum catamaran is able to travel and conduct surveys quickly due to its lightweight construction and excellent stability.  Note the black LED message display board on the side of the ship (above and below) which indicated in four languages (English, Korean, Chinese, Japanese) the message "SURVEY UNDERWAY" to passing vessels in the strait and ship freakazoids on shore. 海燕  測量船 ★ KAIEN Surv...

JOYO 1

General cargo ship JOYO 1 was photographed in the Kanmon Strait of Japan from the shores of the Garden Paradise Kitakyushu on a swell November 11, 2024 afternoon. JOYO 1 , a general cargo ship sailing past Japan's coast This vessel sails under the Flag of Belize.  Never been, but hear Belize is all sorts of awesome.  Next time I'm in the neighborhood, it might be time to bop in and say "Hello" and/or "Hola" and buy some peanuts from Mennonite children.  Friends who have been say the beaches are really nice... Anyway, here is some video of Joyo 1 sailing between Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki. This cargo ship has been known to frequent the ports of Kawasaki Japan, Sorong Indonesia, and Shanghai West Taiwan (when the CCP collapses Ship Freakazoid thinks China's name will be more accurately renamed West Taiwan).  General cargo ship sailing by a buoy in the blue ocean of Japan Oh BUOY!!!  Looks like JOYO 1 could use a little TLC and touch up paint work.  Still a...

Honda Vehicles Carrier ASAKA

appears to be drag racing another ship thru the Kanmon Straits!!! あさか (ホンダの内航自動車運搬船) Asaka, like other Honda domestic car carriers, sports a light blue and bright white paint job worthy of being sung about in a Jan & Dean or Beach Boys hotrod song.   Honda Motors domestic car carrier ASAKA sailing the Kanmon Strait Wonder if it is hauling drag racing cars, F-1 racing cars, or plain old stock Honda cars and trucks for lame folks like Keiko and Manabu...   The brand spanking new container ship A SUWA (Flag of Hong Kong) sailed thru the Kanmon Straits of Japan on a lovely Japanese autumn day (November 11, 2024) and was filmed with an antique JVC Everio video camera (Konica Minolta 54x lens) by a sissy sicko with no credentials known as Ship Freakazoid. Cargo ships in the Kanmon Straits of Japan

Japan's sea and the scenic Kanmon Straits are beautiful enough by themselves, but this collection of cargo ships really adds a nice accent to the blue sky and blue sea. Ship Freakazoid took this photo of these vessels sailing in the Kanmon Strait on November 11, 2024 at 12:23 PM using an old secondhand Olympus E-520 DSLR with Zuiko 150mm lens. No filters used. No image editing performed. Photo is "as-is" if you will... Cargo ships in the Kanmon Straits of Japan What's a good title for this photograph? How about: "Cargo ships in the Kanmon Straits of Japan on a lovely November afternoon" ? In the foreground on the right is the Belize flagged general cargo ship JOYO 1 (IMO 9273181) sailing between Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki Japan.  Video of JOYO 1:  https://youtu.be/vVd5sosSCRs?si=7vPrwjFahpOJk6yQ The colorful container ship in the mid-left is A SUWA (IMO 9972842), a brand spanking new (built in 2024) 142 meter long vessel sailing under the Flag of Hong Kong. ...
