Sakura Fortune, a bulk carrier built in 2021, recently sailed the Kanmon Straits.
Sakura Fortune (IMO 9881172 / MMSI 355496000) |
This relatively new vessel was captured on digital "film" in photographs and video footage for your viewing pleasure. For video, an old secondhand JVC Everio GZ-E265-N (Konica Minolta 54x lens) and used Slik tripod were used. Photos were taken using Ship Freakazoid's body and a well used but never abused (intentionally) Olympus E-520 DSLR camera with Zuiko 150mm lens.

As far as bulk carriers that pass thru the Kanmon Strait go, Sakura Fortune looks to be pretty well maintained and is a pleasant sight. Sakura Fortune gets around, town to town (sung in the voices of The Beach Boys), as well. While typing this, the ship is near the Philippines and is on its way to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Ship Freakazoid has been to the Philippines but his trip to Vietnam was cancelled. Should have stowed away!
