SUMISE MARU No. 31 第三十一すみせ丸 |
This cement carrying ship was built back in 1996. Seems recent to me, but was actually 28 years ago in the last century! It is obviously very well maintained.

すみせ(スミセ), or SUMICE (sue-mee-say) is an abbreviation for the Sumitomo Osaka Cement Group. Sumitomo is a famous Japanese zaibatsu and has its hands in just about everything and every sort of business imaginable. Some very good people work for Sumitomo, and they are huge in Osaka. Hyyyyyyuuuuuuugggge!!!
Looking good from all sides! 第三十一すみせ丸 |
Ship Freakazoid has probably seen this ship pass by too many times to count. Fortunately, on this day (2024.08.20.) the vessel decided to leave port right next to Señor Loco de los Barcos and it was captured on digital "film" for everyone to enjoy.
Let's keep an eye out for it in the future. It would be nice to follow up.
As usual, the trusty Olympus e520 DSLR camera with Zuiko 150mm lens was used to photograph this ship.
Disclaimer:
No woke folk were offended during the photography of this ship.
Even if they were, who cares!?
