Recently, the MV A SUKAI, a Hyundai Heavy Industries container ship, passed thru the Kanmon Straits of Japan. The vessel was captured on digital "film" on August 6, 2024 by Ship Freakazoid from the Shimonoseki side of the strait.

The above photos shows MV A Sukai sailing under the Kanmon Bridge, which connects Shimonoseki City on Honshu Island with Kitakyushu City on Kyushu Island. Between 20,000 and 30,000 vehicles cross the bridge each day. Also, the Kanmon Straits can have as many as 1000 ships pass thru on peak days.
