With so many smaller local ships passing thru the Kanmon Straits everyday, they sometimes are ignored when larger ships are also passing by. Keiyu Maru No.5 happened to be going the opposite direction as the gigantic ro-ro Liberty Promise on the afternoon of March 18, 2024. The Kitakyushu based cargo ship looked good passing by Simonoseki's infamous "Tower That Makes All Men Feel Inferior."

THERMOPYLAE is a vehicles carrier (RoRo ship) and was recently photographed passing thru the Kanmon Straits between Shimonoseki City and Kitakyushu City, Japan. Thermopylae is a large vessel, and while not as long as some others, is quite tall. It dwarfed the buildings and other ships and boats it passed on the afternoon of April 2, 2022. A SUWA - Brand New Container Ship in the Kanmon Strait

The brand spanking new container ship A SUWA (Flag of Hong Kong) sailed thru the Kanmon Straits of Japan on a lovely Japanese autumn day (November 11, 2024) and was filmed with an antique JVC Everio video camera (Konica Minolta 54x lens) by a sissy sicko with no credentials known as Ship Freakazoid.
